Optional Benefit Add-Ons

Life happens – having these additional benefits ensures that you have guaranteed coverage for life’s unpredictable hurdles, which provides you and your family with peace of mind should the unexpected happen.

• Optional Life Insurance covers death from any cause – with this promotion, you are guaranteed for $100,000, and $25,000 for your spouse. You can find out more about this benefit here.
• Optional Accidental Death & Dismemberment covers death or injury resulting from accident with this promotion, you are guaranteed for up to $250,000 either as Single or Family coverage. You can find out more about this benefit here.
• Optional Critical Illness Insurance provides you with a benefit payment when you are diagnosed with, and survive, any of the covered diseases or illnesses – with this promotion, you and your spouse are guaranteed for up to $50,000, and up to $10,000 for your dependent children. To be eligible for this promotion, you must meet these requirements:

• Apply between March 1, 2026 and April 30, 2026.
• Be an active employee under the OpenCircle Benefit Plan, not currently be on disability.
• Not have been declined by Sun Life for Life Insurance prior to this application (for Optional Life Insurance only).
• Be under age 65 at the time of application (for Optional Critical Illness only).
• Not currently have more Optional benefit coverage through OpenCircle Benefits than the promotional offering maximums in this promotion.

If you want more coverage than the promotional offer, you will be required to qualify medically for the additional coverage amounts with the respective insurer. Only the promotional amounts are offered with no medical required.

• Where the coverage increase is approved by the insurer, the increase will be effective on the date of your approval by the insurers.

I applied for additional coverage and I was denied:

• If your coverage increase is not approved by the insurers, you will still be entitled to the promotional maximum, where you meet the other eligibility criteria.
